Honeymoon Reviews

It Just Doesn't Get Any Better Than This!

11/06/2006   The Four Seasons is a dream destination for a honeymoon or first anniversary trip! The resort itself is elegant, but comfortable and not so large that you feel like you are at a huge cookie-cutter hotel. The poolside service makes you feel as though you are a movie star (they come around every half hour with some kind of treat like a fresh strawberry or a cool washcloth). The restaurants at the hotel are fantastic (especially Ferraro's) and it is difficult to lure yourself from the hotel to go explore the island. Maui is so charming and there is something for everyone - relaxation, scenery, adventure... Maui was the PERFECT place to honeymoon and the Four Seasons was the icing on the cake. We checked out the other really nice hotels (e.g., Grand Wailea and The Ritz) and frankly we were SO GLAD we were at the Four Seasons!!

Best Hotel and Service Ever!

09/11/2006   The Four Seasons Wailea exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived the service was top notch. Without even asking we were upgraded to a deluxe penthouse suite with views like you wouldn't believe. The room also featured 2 huge bathrooms and a balcony the size of most rooms! It was truly beautiful. Yes, they knew it was our honeymoon, but it's nice to get upgrades like that w/out asking. We opted for a plan that included buffet breakfast every day and the food was great. The dinner restaurants were okay, but we choose to eat out most nights. The pool was great (they walk by and give you Evian mists while you lay out) and the foot massages at the pool are worth every penny. When we needed directions or suggestions the concierge was great. The maps and details were very helpful. After spending a week in Kauai my husband and I were desperate for a real Coke (they server Pepsi everywhere). When we first got to the Four Seasons and sat down for lunch we asked if they served Coke or Pepsi - the waiters reply was 'both'. We told him how excited we were and that we couldn't believe they carried both. He said 'Of course we do, you are at the Four Seasons' - that pretty much summed up the service. Everywhere after that when we'd eat in the hotel, they always served us Coke. They must make note of that stuff somehow. I have stayed at many nice hotels, and nothing has come close to this place. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Happy Honeymooning!

American Paradise, 4 seasons lanai!

07/25/2006   Our honeymoon was everything I had hoped it to be and more! We chose to stay at the four seasons in maui and lanai and they complemented each other beautifully. Maui was VERY populated! That said, the hotel was gorgeous and we were upgraded to a ocean-front suite upon our arrival!! There is plenty of night life, shopping and dining, but truth be told we stayed close to our hotel and the nearby fairmont ( beautiful) and Grand Wailea ( lots of kids!) Although the accommodation was expensive, $425.00-$525.00 a night, we felt that the service, experience and ultimate upgrade was worth every penny.!!

Four Seasons Maui - 5 Star - Most Intimate Hotel on Maui of the big hotels

07/19/2006   4 Seasons - Rated 10 We got to the 4 Season early this day because we took the little 'puddle jumper' from the Big Island and it left Kona at 9:30 am. We arrived at around 10:30 and couldn't check into our room, but we were notified that our garden view room had been upgraded to partial oceanview suite. Oh my, was it beautiful. Separate bedroom, 2 full baths (not that we need 2), large livingroom, 2 TVs and 2 wonderful balconies - one with lounge chairs and one with a nice table. Service here was great. There is nothing to complain about here. We went in the Grand Wailea but it was too spread out for us and the pools do nothing for us. But it was also a very pretty hotel. I like the coziness of the 4 Seasons and the architecture of the outside. We also at a Nick's Fishmarket and got a look at the Kea Lani. That would have been my second choice. Unique building design, but again bigger hotel than the 4 seasons. Bigger pools etc. The lounge entertainment was very good and we would sit in the bar area and just relax listening to the music. Ahhh?.. This is the life. Nick's Fishmarket at the Kea Lani - Rated 10. We had a 8 pm reservation. We decided it was better each night to eat after the sunset so we could stand on the beach and enjoy the view, take pictures rather than possible get a bad table at a restaurant and fight for a good view. We were glad we did this. The restaurants were less crowded and we didn't feel rushed. Nick's food was top of the line. Service was great. Everything was a 10. We walked here in the dark from the 4 Seasons. A much further walk than we had anticipated. It took about 15 minutes, but the walk back after a wonderful dinner with all the stars in the sky was incredible. By the way, the stars in the sky in Hawaii were unbelievable. Each night we sat outside wherever we were and watch for shooting stars. We were never disappointed. Farraros @ the 4 Seasons: Rating 8 We only had appetizers here so I can't really comment on the meals but everything was very good and the views are awesome from here. It is a small intimate outside restaurant and everything was very good. Pacific Grill: Rate 9 We had breakfast here each morning and it was very well put together and the setting was great. Spagos: Rate 9 Everything here was great too. I liked Nicks just a little bit better, maybe because we ate outside at Nicks. But you can not go wrong here. Service, food, location all wonderful. Tommy Bahamas at the shops at Wailea. Rated 9. The food here was very good and usually combinations of Pacific Rim style food and there was a great steel drummer who was very good which made the atmosphere that much better. Nice place for a impromptu meal. Mamas Fishhouse; Rated 10 I can not say enough good things about this place. The location, the food, the drinks and the service were wonderful. My only advice is to each a late breakfast around 9 or 10 and go here just before 2 pm, which is when they quit seating people for lunch. Then eat a nice lunch here and you will not need to eat dinner. Our lunch with appetizers, drinks, salad, entrees and desserts was $200, but was wonderful and we only had a salad that night for dinner because we were still so full and satisfied from Mamas. Another good reason to go during the day is to watch the windsurfers. At night you can not see anything. IMHO it is much nicer to enjoy the daytime view. Activites: Scuba Diving: Rate a 9 We went scuba diving with Maui Dreams out of Kihei. It was just the 2 of us and our dive guide. The scooters were a lot of fun and got us out to the wrecks fast where we saw a lot of fish. The scooters were a little hard to handle when placed between our legs but once we got the hang of it, we had a lot of fun. We are very new to diving and only got our certification the week before we left. The water was a little cold for me but that is my only complaint and that had nothing to do with the dive company. Sailing Trip: Rainbow Chaser. Rated 10. If you are a couple, this is the boat trip I would take. It is a sail boat with only 3 couples, the driver/sailor (whatever you call them) and the owner. We started out from Lahania at about 8 am. We had a great, yummy breakfast of fruit, fresh baked still warm scones, juice and coffee. There were cabin that each couple was assigned (make reservations early and the first couple of that day to reserve gets the captains quarters). We didn't spend any time in the cabin except to change in and out of our bathing suits but that was very nice. It was nice to come dressed in shorts and loss shirt, then change into our bathing suit when we got close to where we were going to snorkel, then after snorkeling we changed back into dry clothes. What a difference than being in a wet bathing suit for the next 2 hours. While we were snorkeling, they grilled fresh hamburgers, chips, fruit, ice-cream and alcoholic beverages were included. Then champagne to end the trip which docked about 2 pm. It was just the greatest. We got to know the other couples and we sailed all the way back to the harbor at Lahania. This is also the trip that we swam with all the dolphins. The captain said that in the 13 years he had been sailing these tours, he had never had this experience. Usually when the people get in the water, the dolphins take off. Haleakala: Rated 8 We drove up to Haleakala, leaving our hotel about 9:30 am. We watched the thermometer on the car go down and down and down. From 87 degrees to 54 degrees by the time we got there around noon. It was very cloudy that day so we spend an hour looking around the top and then heading down to lunch at the restaurant near the base that looks out over Maui. I forgot the name right now. It was a nice place to stop for lunch. I?d rate it about a 7. Another thing about the ride up and down was driving through the eucalyptus forest. It smelled so good. We also snorkel in from of the 4 Seasons and it was really nice.

07/16/2006   Maui Four Seasons was the perfect Honeymoon...we ended two weeks there. A couple of tips. Don't go anywhere after this stop because it wont compare. Also the rooms are all the same so you can save a lot if you get rooms that face the mountains (less than $400 a night). The pool service is amazing with afternoon sprays, ices and fresh fruit.
