08/16/2006   Young Island is a magical private island that's a blend of Robinson Crusoe and pure luxury. It makes you feel like you're miles away from civilization, and yet, you are only a few minutes away from St.Vincent should you tire of the tranquility. We not only honeymooned here, but we were married right on the beach. We couldn't ask for a better wedding; it was everything we hoped for and then some. We purchased the wedding packgage and then simply sat back, relaxed and let the staff take care of everything. What a relaxing wonderful way to start married life! The staff couldn't do enough for us, and no request was impossible. Even the rather bureaucratic marriage paperwork that is the norm in St.Vincent was easy on account of the wedding coordinator taking us to Kingstown and walking us thru this rather lengthy complicated process. I highly recommend staying in the oceanfront cottages with the plunge pool. It's a self-contained suite with its own gazebo, lovely grounds, outdoor shower and of course, its own plunge pool. Bliss! I also highly recommend the sail-away package. We took the 3 nite option which took us to Bequia, Tobago Cays and Mustique. All this with our own private chef and captain. We had the wedding and honeymoon of our dreams, and we hope to return to this magical place for an anniversary.
