Honeymoon Reviews

The resort was beautiful, the food was excellent, and the weather and views were great. The bus ride to the hotel form the airport was awful, though. It took two hours and the turns, bumps and speed made another couple lose their dinner. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs, but they do everything at a very slow pace, which is normal for Jamaica.

We had a great experience at Sandals and have recommended it to all of our soon to be married friends!

My Wife and I had our honeymoon in Jamaica and had a fun time. Sandals has great customer service and they gave my wife and I a room upgrade upon arrival. It is beautiful there. Problems we encountered were the music, which started playing outside at 8am and woke us up constantly. It was obnoxiously loud near the pools and restaurants, too. They forgot to take our order for room service, missed a night of turn-down service, and it we were never really alone unless in our room. There are too many other older drunk people make it less of a honeymoon destination and more of a booze fest in the pools. I liked having drinks on my honeymoon, but the drunks ruined the atmosphere. And the bus ride to the hotel is awful! It's an hour and a half and I have never gone around hairpin turns at such high speeds and the roads are so bumpy that a girl threw up in our van before we got to the hotel. Stay closer to the airport if you can.

We had a truly marvelous time. My husband and I are into scuba diving, and we would go out on two dives per day, with equipment and guide included. No 'tipping' is allowed, and there are no cash transactions at the resort. Every transactrion is made with your room card, with a bill at the end. The resort was all inclusive, with a full bar in the room that was refilled daily, so you could end up with nothing in additional charges. The only thing that I would say that was negative was our experience at another sandals resort on the island in Negril. I do not recommend the Negril resort, it simply pales in comparison. Our time at the Whitehouse was beautiful, worry free, with excellent food, drinks, service, and scenary abounds. Check it out.

We chose the Whitehouse location for our honeymoon, because it was the newest of all Sandals Resorts in Jamaica. Not only was the property beautiful, but immaculate as well. There are 5 main restaurants that do NOT require reservations, which is great compared to other resorts in the Mayan Riviera. The service is spectacular. Everything is done with a smile and a kind word. From the lawn maintenance technicians to the managers of the hotel, all employees made our stay remarkable. We had lobster tails and NY strip at the Arizona Grill, which was fabulous. The filet mignon at Eleanor’s melted in your mouth. We cut them with butter knives. There also dishes at several restaurants with a Jamaican flair. The jerk chicken at any of the restaurants is fabulous. We had breakfast at the Bay Side buffet every morning. This is your typical resort buffet. It was fresh, but there wasn’t a great deal of variety. Giuseppe’s serves Italian cuisine. The entire menu was awesome. The salads were extremely fresh at each restaurant. There is one main outside bar that had plenty of seating at any point of the day or night. The bartenders are really fun and will make any drink with premium liquor. There are two swim-up bars that were very popular with the guests. Housekeeping was phenomenal. Our room was always clean with fresh towels and a fully restocked bar (we had a concierge suite). Do not let the word “suite” fool you. We had a large room, but it was not a “suite” in the traditional sense and our “beachfront” balcony was tiny. Some people we met had the “butler” service which afforded them in-room dining and a few extras, but not worth an extra 1k. The water sports were included in the package. This included SCUBA. I was impressed by that feature, however Jamaica is not known for its diving and I now know why. There was nothing to see. I saw one Lobster and a few tiny fish. The dive shop employees were great and fun to be with for the day. There were so many chairs on the beach. We never had a problem finding a shaded area on the beach or at the pool. Last but not least, the Red Lane Spa was incredible. I had a tropical bliss massage that was to die for! The Spa is a bit overpriced, but the prices are typical for a resort. Overall, we had a great honeymoon. I would highly recommend this resort for couple of all ages. It can be enjoyed by first time travelers as well as seasoned vacationers.
