Honeymoon Reviews

OCCIDENTAL GRANDE-COZUMEL

07/18/2006   I would reccomend this place for honeymooners if you are looking for a smaller place. This is the type of place where the staff will call you by your name and you will see the same people every day. There are kids at this resort but they were never really around, they have a Kids Club for them to go to all day. The rooms are beautiful, with huge bathrooms. The water from the sink does have a little bit of a funny smell to it-like sulfur, but that did not bother us at all. They give you plenty of bottled water every day in your fridge along with other drinks. The beach is gorgeous as well as the pool. The waitstaff is excellent, they wait on you hand and foot. You can snorkel right on the beach and it was amazing. The food was great, we loved it. The buffets always had different food. My husband is very, very picky and he always managed to stuff himself! The restaurants were amazing, they are worth the wait, you do have to make reservations at them usually, the day before. We did the 3 hour snorkeling excursion on the glass bottom boat. Was probably one of the most amazing things we have ever done. Neither of us have snorkeled and I was a little bit scared, but I got over that quick! The animals you will see and the reefs are spectacular. Its also great because it doesn't take the whole day, you can go out at 9am and be back at 1130a. We also rented a scooter one day and went down to the Port. It was a lot of fun, definately recommend it! This place has NO night life if you are looking for that. They have a show everynight, and then its pretty much quiet, unless you go downtown. If you are looking for small, quiet, relaxing, this place is for you. If you are looking for a place with more to do, see my review on The Adventura Spa Palace Resort in the Rivera Maya. We went there for the 7 days after this resort.
