Adventure Spa Place Resort-Truely a Palace. A resort where you can go, and tr

06/12/2007   Adventura Spa Place Resort, was a wonderful experience, the entire staff were so amazing-I actually cried when we had to leave. They had everthing your heart desired (except for lobster).

ALL INCLUSIVE IS THE WAY TO GO

02/01/2007   We had an all inclusive package at the aventura spa palace and we loved everything about it. We just loved that we didn't have to worry about where or what to eat. There are many restaurants to choose from and you can eat at anytime of the day. We are definitely coming back!

Aventura Spa Palace

08/10/2006   My wife and I recently returned from our honeymoon at the Aventura Spa Palace. We had a great time, were not at all ready to leave, and would recommend it to anyone. Our experiences did not at all back up the complaints that I’ve read from some. Nearly everything about the place was great. Rather than go on, I thought what might be helpful to people most is to list some observations we made and tips we’d give others. Bottom line – Great replace and we’d love to go back. If you have questions happy to answer if I can - crdavis23@hotmail.com. • If you have not booked, I’d recommend booking through a travel agent or a member. While I loved the resort, I previously posted on this site the nightmare we had with the palace sales people in Miami. Long story but we originally booked directly with Palace and had to reschedule following Hurricane Emily. While I originally tried to be understanding given their troubles, I eventually became so frustrated I cancelled it altogether and we nearly booked somewhere else. My wife and I did really like what we had read and heard about this place tough, so I tried a TA – Sunseekers. Would recommend them to anyone and we are glad that we ended up at ASP. • My favorite criticism of this place is the “discerning travelers will not like ASP, I’ve stayed at (fill in the blanks) resorts so I can tell you this is not up to par.” Not that I think where I’ve stayed before really means that much, but as someone who has stayed at many hotels and resorts – everything from local dives to 4 and 5 star U.S. And Caribbean hotels and resorts – I feel confident in saying that ASP is an excellent resort. I tend to think these people either are eternally unhappy or just want to make themselves sound important. Can you find facilities that are more ornate or have more marble or whatever you want to complain about? Sure, however, in my opinion this is an excellent resort that is a great valuable because the Rivera Maya area is somewhat still trying to build its name. Again this is just my opinion but there you go. • Take $100 or so in singles or fives. Yes tipping is included but the staff is amazing and there were many times that my wife or I felt we wanted to give them a couple extra bucks. Someone on this site suggested getting change from the bell hops if you run low. I found this to be an excellent idea. They were eager to trade. You’ll probably have the most luck on the North side as that is where most come in. • Take clothes for the nights. The one are we probably did not pack enough of is night clothes. There are only one or two restaurants that ask you to wear pants, shoes, etc. However, I would have liked to have brought down a couple more pairs of thin, nice pants and shirts. Primarily, I wore out a relaxed colored shirt, pants and sandals at night. Wore shoes to the Italian restaurant. Ladies, I wouldn’t try to give guidance but hopefully what I wore is helpful. • Yes they will ask you to take their “VIP tour” – to sell you on membership. They asked us a couple times in the beginning and checked in again the night before our last day to see how everything was and to see if we changed our minds. I politely told them we were not interested in the tour and they were not aggressive in the least as some have said. We met several very happy members though so if you are interested go ahead. • Book tours as soon as you arrive and take advantage of them if you have not been before. Over our 8 nights we did Chichen-Itaz, Tulum and the Sail and Snorkel and were very pleased. Sail and Snorkel fills very quickly, thus the advice to book early. Chichen-Itza is a full day trip but worth it in my opinion. • For all you people that get up early and hold pool chairs for hours before you actually show up – don’t be a-holes. First off it is not the fault of the resort that some people do not have common courtesy, but you will (as anywhere else) find people who do this. However, there are two large pools and a lot of area around the lagoons though so while you may have to hunt, you will some find good spots. I will admit I would have loved to walk around and steal the towel from all the people that did this though. If you’re going to breakfast/lunch and want to grab a spot on your way to the restaurant (that’s right near the pools) I see no problem in holding it. If you are getting up at 6 AM to have coffee, email your friends, go for a walk, knit, or whatever else you people are doing PLEASE don’t take up a chair until you are actually going to use it or at least within the hour of using it. • The grounds are large enough to have a lot to do, but they are not anywhere near as big as some people have said. We were on the North Side (quieter) and spent most of the days on the South Side (bit more active). This is probably about a .5 mile walk at the most – from end to end. There is also a shuttle if that’s too far. • As I said, the South side is the more active side and the North is the more “chill” side. One is not necessary better than another just whichever you like. Personally, we liked sleeping on the North and hanging out on the South. • The beds are firm but we didn’t find it that much more firm that ours at home. I’ve heard it is easy to get a pad if you like. • We are in our late 20s and found this to be a great spot for our honeymoon. If we were looking for a spot to go out hard every night this probably would not have been it. There were some couples around our age and a lot in their 30s-40s. Also a fair amount 50s and above. There is one “disco”/nightclub which we had fun at some of the nights. Again if we were heading out more, we might have gotten tired of it, but we were perfectly happy heading home after dinner and drinks a few nights as well so it gave a good balance. • Restaurants – several good ones. We really liked MoMoNoHana (Oriental) and Mundaca (Steak). Saw many complain of the waits. We ate at nearly every restaurant. The only one we waited at more than about 15 mins was the Italian one (La Trattoria). This is a long wait (sometimes 2-3 hours). We simply put our name in early and went to the bar in the lobby figuring to have a relaxing evening and a late dinner. Saw and heard some people getting upset about this. I’m guessing these are the same “really important people” that have been “all over” and will tell you not to go here. Personally, it was vacation – we treated it like one. • Staff is EXCELLENT and nearly everyone, housekeeping to tours to bellhops, are fluent in English. We picked up some Spanish and tried to talk with them for fun (and they had fun teaching) but I knew next to no Spanish when we got there and had no problems what so ever. • NEGOIATE EVERYTING off of the resort grounds. I know this is not everyone’s cup of tea but from what I observed this is simply the culture down there. No matter what you may think you have the upper hand here because most of the souvenir shops all sell the same things (and the street guys too). My advise would simply be to have an idea of what something is worth to you and don’t pay more. Let the person negotiate with him/herself for a bit and them tell them a bit less than what you want to pay and you all will meet in the middle.

Stay at Aventura Spa Palace!!

07/18/2006   My husband and I got married June 10th, 2006 and for our honeymoon, stayed at Aventura Spa Palace. I was in awe when we arrived! The property was beautiful, and the staff and service was impeccable! I have never been out of the country before and this was the perfect location to be in! We also had chosen to participate in an 'all-inclusive' package so we got to use our hotel AND every Palace resort in the area for food and drinks! So, one night we went to Cozumel Palace and had dinner and another night we had dinner at the very trendy Playacar Palace. Aventura Spa Palace is pretty secluded so we had to take taxis to Playa and Cancun so next time we visit we'll probably stay in town somewhere. Also another plus is Aventura is ADULTS ONLY! Yay! That was the only drawback to Cozumel Palace and Playacar Palace. We loved not having screaming and yelling kids around on our honeymoon! We definitely recommend Aventura Spa Palace to anyone who is looking for a nice honeymoon or vacation! Also, you have to have a Spa day there...the therapists are great. We also went snorkeling and parasailing which was the best! One note: the resort uses a lagoon and not beach front...we kind of liked that because the wind made the water pretty rough..but you could kayak and snorkel in the lagoon and we enjoyed that.

Adventura Spa Palace Resort- Amazing

07/18/2006   This place is amazing, we did not have a single complaint. Perfect for honeymooners, this is an adult only resort. You can be as lazy or as busy as you want, there are tons of excurions you can do. Or, you dont have to ever leave the resort. The food was awesome, we loved all the restaurants. There is a dress code, but no one seemed to follow it. We always saw people with flip flops and shorts on in all the restaurants. There were also people very dressed up. We enjoyed getting dressed up because we never do at home. The staff was always helpful, sometimes a language barrier but its part of the fun! We did not do any of the excursions, we were VERY lazy. We layed by the pool everyday and were perfectly happy. We did hear other couples talking about their excursions and they seemd to enjoy them all. People also raved about the Spa treatments. This place has a great night life. The disco was always full, they played great dance music and there was Kareoke one night. The bars were always full and had tons of people always around. We are absolutley going back for a vacation next year!

Amazing time at Aventura Palace

07/17/2006   My husband and I stayed at Aventura Palace from June 1st - 8th and had an amazing time. This is our second trip to Mexico, we stayed at Moon Palace for our honeymoon. Overall, I'd have to say that I liked Moon Palace a little more, however I'm a little bias as that was our honeymoon. Aventura was beautiful and the staff was absolutly amazing. Rooms: If your particular about what kind of room you stay in (we are!) then hopefully this can help. The room numbers are 4 digits. The first letter is the floor you are on (1, 2 or 3) and the second letter is your building. Our room was 2505 and it had the best view of the ocean that you can have without being in the Presidential Suites. It's a corner room so there is no hammock, however it's worth the sacrafice of the hammock for that view. It's a little closer to the North side, but it only takes about 3 minutes to walk to the South side. Grounds/Beach: Aventura is absolutly gorgeous! Everyone works really hard to keep it in top shape. Although there is no beach, there is a lagoon. It's a little rough in the water and nothing like swimming in the real caribbean water, but it's a nice alternative. The large pools make up for it. If you're looking for a nice beach, go to Playacar. They have amazing water and a nice size beach right next to the ferry. Food: We would have liked to see a few more buffet options for dinner. We may be in the minority but we'd rather not have to sit down and order and wait for our food every day. The food was very good. I did have some stomach problems as others mentioned, however I tend to have a very weak stomach. It was nothing major and it passed as soon as I took some Pepto. I would recommend El Greco for breakfast. They had an amazing buffet and it's a beautiful view. For anyone who likes a big glass of milk with their breakfast, you won't find any good milk in Mexico. It's not the resorts fault, it's all that's available in Mexico. Instead try all their great fruit juices! Room Service: It was so great to be able to order room service at any time, day or night. They have a somewhat limited menu, but it's still very good. We enjoyed ordering breakfast to be delivered each morning. It was an excellent wake-up call. Also, if you're a big coffee drinker, order the cuppuccino for room service. It isn't on the menu, but if you write it in then they will bring it. My husband loved this! Staff: All of the staff at Aventura were great! Everyone said 'Hola' every time we walked by them. Each person was eager to serve you and very helpful. If you're looking for some amazing drinks go see Jaime at the south lobby bar. He makes the most amazing and colorful shots and drinks! Don't ask him what they are though because he won't tell you! Entertainment: The entertainment at the south pool was fun! Although we saw some stuff going on at the North pool, it was clear that it was more for relaxing and the South side was for hitting the swim up bar and playing games. We also went to a couple of the night shows. The Circus and Drums & Fire show were amazing. We also saw Mr. Palace which was mildly entertaining but we could have done without it. All of the entertainment staff really enjoy what they do and work hard to put on a great show. Disco/Thai Lounge: It's a great time and they play perfect music to dance to. However, it doesn't really get started until around 11:00pm so don't go too early. You'll be the only one on the dance floor or end up just sitting to the side. They also don't change their mix of music too much so one or two nights is about all we could take. The Thai Lounge is a nice place to go relax after a night of dancing too. There is an outside and inside area. Spa: Absolutly amazing! It is huge and gorgeous. We did the couples massage which was so relaxing! You can go an hour before your appointment and enjoy the mineral baths and other parts of the spa. Although we decided that we'd rather be at the pool for that hour, other couples said it is highly recommended. Tours: We decided not to do any tours this time. We wanted to just relax. However, we met a couple there that did the Tulum tour and said it was amazing. If you do go to Tulum definitely bring your swim suit. They won't tell you to in advance and then you'll miss out on swimming in the gorgeous water. So there you go, that should cover all the basis. If you have any questions feel free to email me. We'd definitely return to Aventura, however we're looking forward to trying out the newly renovated Cancun Palace after it's ready in December 2006.
