Honeymoon Reviews

Riu Palace

08/23/2006   Everything was great.

RIU palace Mexico. LOVED IT!

07/17/2006   We stayed June 7-June 14. It was outstanding. This was our delayed honeymoon from when Hurricane Emily came through last year. SERVICE: More than anyone could ask for. I honestly don't know why anyone could complain about that. ROOM: We stayed in a fountain view jr. Suite 0062. It had a living area with a sofa, a coffee table, tv and a small patio. The room was a great location. Right across from the fountain so it drowned out the activities in the courtyard. Great central location from the main area and the pool/beach. Room was clean and AC controlled. So if it was too hot you could adjust it yourself. Yes, the bed and pillows were hard but we were too tired every night to care! AND who watches TV anyway. FOOD: Excellent. There is something for everyone. Even the pickiest eater can find something. The restaraunts for dinner were wonderful. Service again here, FABULOUS! You need to get up to make reservation at 8:30 - 10:00. Not a big deal for an early riser. The line was quick. Then after, i got my coffee and walked to the beach or went to the gym. GYM: For fitness people, it was a little dated but really, are you there to relax or workout. IT served its purpose! BEACH: Excellent! There were plenty of chairs. The palm trees are slowly making there recovery but there was shade to find. Not much in the way of chair to chair drink service bu there is a beach bar a few steps away. DRINKS: Very yummy. If you ask for more liqour, they'll give it too you. No problemo! I took a cooly cup. Well worth it. POOL: Didn't spend a lot of time there. This is definately a beach resort! But the pool was nice. Again plenty of chairs and umbrellas when we went. ACTIVITIES: The activities people are a hoot. It was fun to break up the day with volleyball or a stretching class. Don't be shy.... You meet alot of fun people. I'd recommend to do something at least once. The shows at night are little cheesey but this isn't broadway gang! Have a sense of humor and enjoy a night out under the stars with your loved one or family! TOWN: A cab will take you there for $5. Don't walk.... Hot!!! We went during the day and at night. Alot to see. I recommend going to 5th avenue... Very pretty! Have a beer at Senor Frogs and relax. Overall, we had a great honeymoon. We enjoyed Playa and each other. Made some great friends and had alot of fun. In essence, don't sweat the small stuff, your on vacation!
