Wedding and Honeymoon in the Bahamas

07/26/2006   If you are looking for the alap of luxury, this hotel is not for you! But if you want a small and intimate atmosphere, check out Viv Wyndham on Grand Bahama Island. My room was always clean, and because I am a Wyndham Request member (sign up its free!) I had fresh fruit and drinks in my room everyday! Mucacha and the guest services staff were wonderful. Everthing I wanted for my wedding they provided-I just showed up. The beach was decorated very elegantly-with a red carpet for me to walk down. The archway was decorated with fresh red roses and green garland. I met the minister the afternoon I arrived and he told me how everything would happen and he showed up on time. My reception was very initmate-my wedding party was only 10 people. My cake was beautiful and the food was delicious. Oh, and the photographer was nice too. Our pictures were uploaded to a professional website so we could view them and purchase additional ones-I think 10 came with the package, but you can order more if you want. Overall I was satisifed with Viva Wyndham, but again its not the most luxurious place, but it is very nice and well kept. The staff is wonderful and everyone was so sweet! I can't wait to go back!

Honeymoon Sweet!

07/20/2006   My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Fortuna Beach, so fortunatly we were in great moods and ready to have fun. We did not book this trip, it was a gift for our wedding, so we were not sure of the resort, but wanted to make the best of it. Luckily the resort did not bring our spirits down! Take it from us, the first day you will feel a bit bored and confused at the resort. But we felt that as soon as we got comfortable, we didn't want to leave!! We met so many people on this trip, I wanted to be alone on our honeymoon, but getting to know other people really helped enrich the vacation! The staff was great (don't get caught up in the timeshare meeting-JUST SAY NO!!) the 'kids' running the activities and shows are GREAT we really enjoyed all of the activities the resort had to offer. The Buffet was good, usually a big selection, and get there early as they tend to run out of food toward the end. We loved it here. Our room was private and had a nice view, the beach was AWESOME, and they offered alot of water sport equiptment, Be sure to check out Paradise Cove snorkling, it is great! Also swim with the dolphins! Take advantage of all the resort has to offer- you will not be bored!!! Do bring a large cup, they are great about filling it!!!
