07/11/2007   This was one of the best choices that we had every made when it comes to a romantic getaway. I was very please with everything that the resort offered.excellent food,games,ocean,nightlife. What a wonderful place to have a honeymoon. Again did i stress enough about the food and the white glove service.

07/26/2006   This place is absolutely AMAZING - a true hidden paradise. I cannot rave enough about the Royal Plantation. From my own experience, as well as comments from other guests who are frequent travelers, you won't find better service or value. We stayed in the Honeymoon Oceanfront suite with an ocean view balcony, jacuzzi tub, 3 sinks, separate open shower, walk in closet, but saw the lower rooms and are just as great. The ocean view could be seen from the 4-poster bed with Italian linens. You could hear the tide with the doors and windows closed. The food was beautifully presented and tasted just as good - we ate four course meals of lobster, shrimp, scallops, filet mignon every night. They attend to your room multiple times a day. They constantly stock the bar with anything you request - but standard upon arrival included full, large bottles of Appleton rum, Absolut vodka, whiskey, scotch, champagne, red stripe, wine, multiple bottled sodas, juices, etc. When they noticed that we drank something particular they stocked extra of that so we didn't run out. If you take a nap mid-day - the bed will be made as soon as you leave the room. When you come back from dinner - slippers are next to each side of the bed. Our wedding night they had chilled champagne, candles and rose petals all over the entire room, a hot bubble bath waiting, etc. Beachside is just as amazing - they literally run to move your chair with the sun's direction, constantly come by to get you another red stripe, mango mimosa, or anything you prefer. They'll even bring your lunch to you on the beach if you're too lazy to put clothes on to walk a few steps up to the beachside cafe. In the morning they bring around plates of watermelon, pineapple, kiwi, grapes, etc on the beach. At noon they walk around the beach misting you with rosemary water. The staff is amazingly attentive and personable. We really, truly miss them as people, as friends. The general manager even hosts a cocktail reception to meet the guests, they have cooking demonstrations, an artist came to teach painting techniques, live entertainment, etc. The nightlife is the only thing lacking - not especially important on a honeymoon, but we met some younger couples and made our own fun. We even brought our ipod and speakers into the bar to play music, which was completely welcomed by the staff. We even had a night of MANY, MANY shots and created group karaoke with the staff. At this resort, you also get privileges to go to Sandals - we went once, ate, and came directly 'home.' It was a complete night and day difference. Even when we left the resort we were taken care of - we went to Dunn's River Falls - and they took us all the way inside - straight past the line - no waiting or wandering to find our way and they waited for us to take us back so we didn't have to worry about a ride back. We absolutely cannot wait to go back next year for our anniversary. Although the pictures do not do this place justice, you can get a sense of it's beauty by the decor and attention to detail, the wood furniture on the beach, as well as the lounge areas outdoors, where they have afternoon tea.
