Honeymoon Reviews

05/20/2008   We had a fantastic time at Sandals Royal Caribbean. We came to Sandals directly from our wedding at Beaches Negril. The two resorts are SOOOO different... The beaches in Negril are by far superior. Also, Beaches Royal Caribbean is very close to the airport so you have the occasional noise of airplanes. We were there in early March, and the crowd staying at the hotel were mostly middle-aged or order. There were about 5 other couples there who were honeymooning or newlyweds so we mostly hung out with them. The resort grounds were beautiful and the staff were amazing. We had a honeymoon room with butler service at it was by and far the best decision we ever made to stay in this level of room. The Butler service was simply amazing. Our butler was Ellis and he always had a smile on his face and a kind word... We had a cell phone so we could call him anytime of day with any request. Overall it was a great trip. If you are going for pristine beaches though I would suggest staying in Negril... Montego Bay is more crowded, doesn't have as white of beaches, and is louder.

Very Nice Place to Stay

08/24/2006   Ok, first if you are going to knit-pick at 'little things' Go to the 4 seasons or some other posh hotel where holding your nose up in the air means something! We had a blast on our honeymoon! We stayed in the Royal suite 204, our Butlers Ellis & Hughill were there before we could ask, they were great! It was also my birthday during our stay, so we took advantage of the private dinner on the pavilion...SO WORTH EVERY PENNY! Ellis created swans and a message reading 'Happy Birthday Anna' with tropical flowers on our bed. We had breakfast every morning on our balcony watching the beautiful Jamaican sunrise. Words can't decribe how beautiful! The Smoke was great..Talk to Tony Montana he migh be wearing the Eagles Westbrook Jersey we gave him. He was really a character! My husband actually lost his wedding band in one of the swim areas in the ocean! I could have killed him! We let the staff know and they searched with him for about 5 hours that day to no avail. We ironically settled in for the night watching Lord of the Rings and joked about the situation. The next morning one of the dive staff was all ready looking for it when we woke up and a few hours later...HE FOUND IT! What an amazing recovery! It spent the whole night and went thru tides out there and he found it! We gave him $200.00 US for finding it, which sadly is almost 2 weeks pay for them. We originally scheduled our stay for 12 nights, however we did have to cut our honeymoon short because I got sick on the 9th day. I don't think it had anything to do with the resort honestly, but they gave us our nights back for another visit. Overall we had an excellent time and will return. Yes there is bugs and yes there are 2 (that I saw) stray cats...not something that would make me turn away from a place. There are bugs and cats everywhere! My only complaint would be about the consistant harrassing from the locals to purchase something from them or have your hair braided. Everytime you go by them....it does get annoying. I had 30' extenions in my hair from my wedding and this girl asked me everytime I saw her, 3 times in one day, 'Princess let me braid your hair!'...Finally I snapped at her and she didn't bug me again but if your looking to buy something, Pick one person, buy from them and tell the others who you buy from...they all have the same things. That worked for us, Tony Montana hooked us up, he even gave me a necklace for my birthday. SRC was a very good experience and I would recommend this to anyone who is not uptight.

The best most romantic place on earth. We are returning this year and the year

08/24/2006   Sandals Montego Bay is the Best most Romantic place. Tons of things to do together. The food is excellent, You get to fall in love with your husband all over again and remember the person you fell in love with. The staff is very considerate and include you in everything they think you would enjoy, They also make sure you stay hydrated wich is very importent. I hope this review helps anyone. It is the most beautiful island, people and place I have ever been too. Thank you Sandals. The Wagners

We LOve this Place

08/14/2006   The resort was just awesome and weloved everything about it. We did have our honeymoon interupted by hurricane Ivan. But like they said we got the hurricane guarentee. We were treated like royalty and we taken care of during the hurricane and put in a hotel that was hurricane proof. When we took our free trip the next year we went to the same resort and loved it again. The rooms are beautiful, the water is blue, and the food is great. There is entertainment at night but itsnot too wild just perfect. The staffis incredible, they treat you so good you will never want to leave. I would recommend this resort to anyone as we have stayed at more expansive Sandals and they dont even compare to the Royal Caribbean

A great resort with excellent wedding staff

08/10/2006   When you get to Sandals Royal Caribbean, they will take you into the air conditioned wedding room to plan your wedding. If you stay 6 days or more you wedding package will be FREE. We took the free package and you get a choice of location to get married, your cake, reception for both of you and 2 witnesses (to add more is only $8 a person) you get to choose your location for reception. If its just the 2 of you they provide witnesses. They also provide the Minister, and do all the paperwork for you so you get your papers sorted trouble free. On top of that you will get your just married t-shirts and breakfast in bed. You also have the option to have a candlelight dinner on the beach. If you have guests and you want them all to join you for an evening meal, let everyone meet you later and tell you wedding co-ordinator so she can book you a table all together to eat in the evening (free). You can also get a courtesy room for you guests to change if the resort is not fully booked, speak to your wedding co-ordinator. The whole experience here, is excellent, i have told loads of people about it and its free if you stay the required nights, great value, and Sandals has been voted best resort for over 11 years in a row now.

Fantastic Times At Sandals Royal Carribean, Jamaica

08/07/2006   Sandals is the place to be for honeymooners!! Adults only, couples only. The drinks were great, and the food was absolutely phenomenal!!! There were so many different trips to take, but we just opted to stay at the resort because it was absolutely amazing! We stayed at one and could go to any of the others for the day if we wished, either to eat at the different restaurants, or just see what they had to offer. I can't say enough great things about our trip! We will defenately be returning. Maybe we'll see you there!

Weddings at Sandals

08/02/2006   Sandals Montego Bay is an excellent choice for a wedding if you have guests coming. The hotel is very close to the airport, (you can actually look over the fence and see the runway). Some hotels in Jamaica can take well over an hour to get to on roads that snake through the hills and are no joy to travel on. Sandals Montego Bay did a wonderful job on our wedding, (excellent choice of sites ocean side. Nice resort with clean rooms, nice pools, and right on the ocean.

Awesome vacation, wedding, honeymoon!!

07/20/2006   Definately want to visit again!! We came for our weddingmoon. It was an experience that was so perfect that I couldn't have picked a better way to do it. Some of our friends/family stayed at the Sandals Inn in Montego Bay and were able to easily board the shuttle for visits at our resort. (The shuttles run once an hour from each resort, so we sometimes had to wait awhile or had to rush to make the shuttle, but you can always take a taxi; it just costs money.) The people are wonderful. It is amazing how they all know you personally (first name and last along with your room number-how they do it is a wonder to me!) Everyone is so polite and excited you are there visiting Jamaica. The country is very poor outside the resort. We visited a few areas like the Hip Strip (shopping) and Margaritaville which were fun. You get hassled by people to buy things on the street some, but it isn't overwhelming. Just be polite and say, 'No thanks,' if you are not interested. Taxis are $5 pp almost anywhere you go in the city. If you pay more, you're getting ripped off. The resort is great. We haven't travelled much and were a little nervous because we don't know anyone who has been here before. The reviews aren't all good. Check in took about twenty minutes, but we were offered champagne and were comfortable alone in a large air conditioned room. (It is extremely humid in Jamaica!!! I was excited to get a relief from the hot Texas weather, but it was pretty much the same b/c the humidity was about 100% all the time!!) Rooms: We were automatically upgraded to a nicer room. (We did a split stay-3 nights in a Deluxe room and 7 nights in the Honeymoon Watersedge) The first upgrade was to a Honeymoon Beachfront room which was very nice. Private and easy access to the beach. We were upgraded to a Honeymoon Suite when we switched rooms. This room was AMAZING. Gigantic!! Large whirlpool tub and separate glass shower with two sinks. Large bar area with red and white wines, Red Stripe, Coke, Sprite, Orange, Pineapple, and Cranberry Juices, as well as large bottles of vodka, rum and gin. Not a mini bar!! Our view was beautiful, but the only downfall was there wasn't a balcony. No biggie though. There was a nice big table we ate our honeymoon breakfast at in the nook that looked over the beach (it was a corner window.) Nice and cold A/C in both rooms!! Room service was never seen but you always knew they had come!! They even turned down our beds at night!! The room had fresh flowers and the towels were made into different shapes each day!! Food and Drinks: MMMMMmmmmmm!! Great selection for even the pickiest eaters! Breakfast and lunch were buffets each day. Lunch was different each day and so you never got bored. Breakfast had a ton of options with omelettes made to order with tons of sides (not always the same, but mostly.) Fresh fruit which was delicious!! Best pineapple I've ever had!! Dinner was very classy (make your reservations as soon as you get there or you might not get in) and romantic. So many cuisines to choose from. I had many types of food that I never buy here b/c I can't afford it!! We thought the food might not be so good b/c it was all included, but man, we were impressed. The drinks were good too. Very strong! I thought they would be skimpy here as well, but the liquor just flows. I had to ask for more punch than rum!!! Whooo wee!! We came home with two free bottles of rum, too!! Downfalls: Photos-way overpriced. Bring a digital camera and ask other people to take pics. Everyone is polite and happy to, and return the favor. Our wedding pics weren't the best either. Some were blurry and we thought the prices were outrageous. We did buy scuba diving pics and a few of some pics that various camera people take throughout the stay. $5 a piece to put them on a CD. We would have bought more if they were cheaper. Invest in a waterproof case for your camera if you can. Worth the money. The airplanes didn't bother me (they fly over mostly in the middle of the day and are loud, but it's only seconds of time; people just wave as they fly over.) We did everything we possibly could while there. We stayed ten nights so we had some time to be adventurous, romantic and plenty of relaxing time. We didn't want to leave. Some of our wedding guests only stayed three nights and they regretted it. They wanted to change their flights to stay longer. Dunns River Falls-we took a private taxi and saved about $10 a person. You are on your own time which is nice. You don't need a guide either. People who got a guide complained and the trip wasn't as fun. Canopy Tour-our friends bought us this as a wedding present. Awesome!! Breathtaking views and what a thrill. Not as scary as I thought it would be and I'm afraid of heights!! We heard that the horseback tour wasn't that good and the dolphins weren't worth the money. We would have liked to take the day trip to Negril, but we didn't have time. Book your trip early b/c some only go on certain days. (You don't have to book early, but be aware of the times and days they go.) I loved Sandals because there were no kids. I love kids, (I'm an elementary teacher) but I don't want them vacationing with me!! Montego Bay was the best of the four Sandals resorts we visited. The best and biggest beach with the most watersports activities. The party was at Montego Bay!! The Playmakers (entertainers) made sure everyone had something to do. The Inn was like a three story motel. The tiny beach was across the street and public. A lot of locals go there. The people were nice there and the food was good. The Inn is neat b/c you can order room service around the clock. Royal Caribbean was smaller than Montego Bay. The resort was newer and they had a drink menu to help you choose your drinks. (Their specialties.) Ochos Rios was also newer with a yummy pizza place (eat here if you go to Dunns River!) They pool was nicer than Montego Bay, but the beach was smaller with less water sports. The drive to Ochos Rios is very bumpy with aat least half being dirt roads. (About a two hour drive.) I wouldn't suggest going here if your trip is less than five days. I just can't wait to go back!!
