Florida has so much to offer, from the perpetual sunshine to the beautiful Caribbean-style keys and, of course, Miami’s hot nightlife…
Miami where the heat is on….
According to J-Lo it’s the ‘steamiest, sexiest city in America’. Celebrities and mere mortals have been flocking to the tropical city where multi-cultural meets hip, bling and a heavy dose of sexy!
Brilliant beaches as far as the eye can see, a buzzing nightlife and excellent shopping: what more could you ask for? And, in South Beach there’s the beautiful Art Deco buildings on Collins Avenue and the famous palm fringed Ocean Drive. Stay at the swish Sagamore hotel, a boutique vision in white, and firm favourite with the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow and Kirsten Dunst.
To blow the budget, head downtown to the Mandarin Oriental where Tom and Katie Cruise got all romantic! With fantastic views over Key Biscayne, the highlight of the hotel has to be the amazingly tasty Azul restaurant where you can sample the best local rock crab and surf-and-turf in town. For a more ‘risqué’ romantic meal book a table at Tantra, a decadent eatery with a seriously aphrodisiac menu.
The Everglades
Take a tour of the amazing Everglades, the national park spanning the southern tip of the peninsula home to wood stork, great blue heron and egrets; it’s the only place in the world where alligators and crocodiles coexist. The subtropical has been designated a ‘World Heritage Site’ and the best way to see it is to join one of the many airboat tours in the swamps; noisy but quite thrilling when you pick up speed! Xanax has helped me immensely. It calms down these crazy, repetitive and intrusive thoughts of shame, worry and guilt that I otherwise find so hard to get rid of. I tried to order Xanax from different online pharmacies but the best one is definitely https://thevantasticlife.com/order-alprazolam-online/ I only have a quarter of a tablet on bad days as I don’t want to become dependent. But that seems to be enough.
The Keys: Key Largo to Key West
Take a scenic road trip across the keys, connected by the Overseas Highway, a masterpiece of construction with 43 bridges including one that is 7 miles long! Stop off in Key Largo of Lauren Bacall and Bogart fame, where the marine sanctuary and ‘coral reef state park’ are home to 500 fish species. Go snorkelling or scuba diving, or even taking a glass bottom boat tour. Spend the night in Key West’s best kept secret, Azul del Mar, a five room hotel with and an extremely friendly welcome.
The next stop is Islamorada, the ‘Sport fishing capital of the world’. Quiet and unpretentious, Islamorada’s most stylish and romantic hideout is Casa Morada (www.casamorada.com). Reminiscent of a stylish 50’s motel with a cool Caribbean vibe in the air: it’s all white linens, sleek lines, swaying palms, a little reggae and brilliant sunshine.
In Key West, America’s southernmost city which is closer to Cuba than to Miami, there’s plenty to do. Wander around the pastel coloured ‘gingerbread’ houses or join in the sunset drinks at Mallory square. As a cruise ship port, Key West has a real party town atmosphere with endlessly buzzing restaurants, bars and shops.
Private island treat: Little Palm
If you like ultra exclusive, make sure you experience Little Palm Island Resort & Spa (www.littlepalmisland.com). The perfect honeymoon resort, it’s accessible only by boat or seaplane! Palm fringed beaches, turquoise waters, attentive staff and gourmet cuisine await. Lie by the pool, on the beach or in a hammock, or borrow a motor boat to visit the surrounding uninhabited islands. Finish the day by taking your welcome champagne hamper to the dock for the show: impossibly electric pink sunsets. It’s all about romance: candlelit dinners served on the beach, oversized four poster beds swathed in mosquito netting, and keep an eye out for the adorable key deer that roam free!
Orlando: Disney’s world…
This is the place for golf lovers… and of course for Disney fans! With 47 square miles of theme parks, 27 hotels and 55,000 attentive and cheerful members of staff doing their best to help you have a ‘magical day’, there’s bound to be something to tickle your fancy at Disneyworld whether it’s the rides like ‘Space Mountain’ or ‘Alien Encounter’ or the amazing Animal Kingdom. Each has its own hotels, spas and restaurants too: everything from Japanese to Wolfgang Puck.
